- 1 cup short-grain white rice or Cal Rose
- 1 tablespoon oil (butter or any oil)
- 1/3 cup vermicelli
- 1 cup of boiled water
Soak rice for about 15 minutes.
In a cooking pot, heat oil or butter, add vermicelli and continually steer to toast it evenly until the vermicelli turns golden brown, about 3-4 minutes.
Rinse rice from water and pour over vermicelli, add salt and continue to stir so that the rice will be well-coated with the oil and vermicelli.
Add boiled water, once it starts boiling, cover the pot.
Turn the heat on low. Let it simmer for about 15-20 minutes.
