No-Bake Dates-Oat Balls

I’m always on the hunt for something easy and delicious but also healthy, sweet but not necessary with lots of sugar. And also something that you can make without much time and effort. So dates are very popular in Palestine. We love to munch on them all the time. And we also have what we called ajweh. Ajweh is pitted dates that turned into a paste, specially made for baking all kinds of different Palestinian cookies.

Ajweh is available at most Middle Eastern stores across the US, but if you don’t have ajweh and have dates all you need to do is take the pit out of about 15-20 dates, chop them and process in a food processor to turn it into a paste.

I also prefer to use the quick oats versus the regular ones because this recipe doesn’t require any baking or liquid and the quick ones are just softer. I also highly recommend using organic oats, since the regular ones contain glyphosate toxic pesticides used for herbs. Wholefoods have organic quick oats in bulk for only 99 cents a pound.
